For the Buttercream Frosting:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Optional:

  • Additional confectioners’ sugar for dusting

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2. Cream the Butter and Sugar:

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. This can be done with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 3-5 minutes.
